CSR strategy

The strategy gives CSR a uniform structure, a clear focus on themes, and visual recognition. VION has been focusing on people, planet and profit for years, so the business activities in the context of CSR are not new, but they are approached in a different way.
Achieving sustainable added value through the CSR strategy is a principal starting point and objective.

VION’s CSR agenda consists of five key themes Agriculture, Communities, Environment, Nutrition & Health and People, each of which offers added value for VION customers. This seamlessly blends in with our philosophy of customer intimacy. Individual commitments have been laid down for these themes and every commitment succinctly indicates VION’s ambition for the theme in question.

Buy-in and support

The focus for 2012 will be on anchoring CSR in our day-to-day practices. Every business unit is expected to translate the CSR ambitions into objectives for the business unit in question, and for each operational site. This approach makes working with commitment to, and awareness of CSR relevant for all VION’s staff, customers and NGO’s. This is a pre-condition for being able to achieve added value through the CSR strategy, and communicate with all stakeholders.

The chain

Taking an active role on CSR-related issues within VION’s spheres of operations is important. VION is committed to achieving continuous improvement of the cooperation in the agricultural food chain, and to making an effective contribution to an improved environment for people and animals.
