Vion wins Kristalprijs for fastest climber 2017

Vion wint Kristalprijs voor de snelste stijger 2017

Boxtel, 22 November 2017Yesterday evening, during the Kristalprijs Ceremony in Driebergen (The Netherlands), Vion won the Kristalprijs 2017 as the fastest climber in the Transparency Benchmark of The Netherlands for its CSR report 2016. Francis Kint, CEO Vion: "Vion is very proud and happy to have won this prize. It is a recognition of our work, our courage and our performance, and an enormous stimulus for the sector.”

This year, Vion published a corporate social responsibility (CSR) report for the first time. With an increase in points of 90 compared to last year, the company climbed from the 204th to the 112th position in the Transparency Benchmark.

Report of the jury
In this sound report, crucial parts are included, such as a value creation model, a description of the value chain and information regarding stakeholder dialogue. Especially the link between material topics and the value creation model is called remarkably striking by the Jury. Another strong element of the report is that the results are presented in a quantitative manner for nearly every material topic. In addition, the Jury expresses its appreciation for the fact that Vion chooses openness by publishing a CSR report. Especially in an industry which is closely followed by society, transparency is not always self-evident, but of even greater importance.

Kristalprijs
The Kristalprijs is the prize for the best CSR reporting which was established by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate, together with the Royal Dutch Professional Association of Accountants (NBA), in 2010. The Kristal is the most important prize for CSR reporting in The Netherlands.
