VION sets great store by healthy and safe food
VION Food Group sees it as self-evident that its products comply with high safety and quality standards. VION Food Group has adopted a Food Safety Policy, based on fixed starting points.
All food-producing VION companies work to one common HACCP standard. This enables VION to provide buyers at home and abroad with consistent levels of food safety and food quality. The governments of large importing countries, including China and the USA, have acknowledged VION's quality standards.
Further roll-out of VION chain inspection standard
Following VION’s introduction of chain inspection in its companies in the Netherlands, the first country in the world to start using this system, this method has now also been introduced in Germany. Leading German institutions and universities are assisting in this project to implement the VION chain inspection standard.
Transparency is a part of the quality system
VION strives to make food safety and QA systems transparent for everyone. In order to achieve this we are working together with Bonn University, other scientific institutions and the British, Dutch and German authorities. The objectives of one of these projects are to further increase transparency in the chain and improve the quality of production processes by means of daily electronic data exchange.
VION works to assure safe animal feed
Together with other parties in the chain we support the assurance of the safety of animal feed in the chain. Feed producers now work to recognised codes of practice and nowadays they have insurance to cover their liability. These pre-conditions help to considerably reduce animal feed-related risks for livestock farmers and enable the animal feed industry to show that it is working according to professionally recognised standards.
How VION gives substance to the notion of responsibility
All processes within the VION Food Group are continuously tested and improved where possible. The high standards imposed on the process and product quality are verified on a daily basis, in line with scientifically justified and objective criteria. VION Food Group expects its suppliers to live up to the same high safety and quality standards. Flavour, colour, odour and user-friendliness are given the same amount of attention. VION Food Group works together with independent laboratories to establish the quality of its products.
