Open Day Vion Perleberg very successful
Perleberg, 26 June 2018 – On 23 and 24 June 2018, Vion Perleberg GmbH celebrated its 25th year-jubilee. The Agricultural Minister of Brandenburg, Jörg Vogelsänger, opened the event on Sunday, together with Vion Perleberg Geschäftsführer Klaus Voigt. Over 1.000 visitors came to visit the company. Vion Perleberg employs over 500 people, which makes it one of the main employers in the region.
In his opening speech, Minister Vogelsänger emphasised the importance of Vion Perleberg for the region. Managing Director Klaus Voigt thanked his employees. Afterwards, they jointly started the culinary tour. At various stands, Vion Perleberg’s very best meat products were offered. An extensive entertainment programme for the whole family ensured a good atmosphere throughout the day.
The guided tours through the enterprise proved that Vion is a transparent company. Among other things, visitors were able to have a look inside the cold rooms and were informed about the production process by means of posters, information boards and short videos. The Open Day lasted from 10.00h am to 16.00h pm. In addition, Vion informed the visitors about the structure of the company, sales, training, purchasing of raw materials and veterinary checks, as well as the high quality standards of the meat processing company.
The Perleberg location is part of Vion Food Group. Apart from regional LEH programmes, the company produces pork products which, in accordance with the standards of the German Animal Protection League, have received the label ‘For more animal welfare’. The export to neighbouring EU member states, such as Italy, Poland, the Netherlands and Scandinavia is also an important part of the business. Furthermore, Vion Perleberg also supplies its products to Asia and has obtained a direct export licence for China.
