Vion Food strengthens organisation with two top retail managers
30 May 2014 – Vion Food strengthens its organisation with two top retail managers. As of 20 May 2014 Tom Heidman has joined the Supervisory Board, where he is responsible for the commercial portfolio, and as of 2 June John Valster will take up the post of strategic commercial advisor. Previously, they both worked for a.o. C1000 and Albert Heijn and were responsible for the repositioning of C1000.

Mr Tom Heidman (54) has over 25 years of experience in the food sector. Tom started his career at Albert Heijn and held various functions during his more than 15 years at Ahold. Until 2012 he was chairman of the management board of C1000. After the fusion of C1000 with Jumbo he has been active in various companies within and outside the food and retail segments as adviser, Board Member and investor.
From 2009 to October 2012, as Director Buying and Merchandising, John Valster (48), was jointly responsible for the re-positioning of C1000. Apart from that he has extensive experience in the area of fresh produce. Both at C1000 and at Albert Heijn he bore responsibility for, amongst others, the complete fresh produce policy, and at Univeg he was responsible for the business unit Convenience. Since leaving C1000 he has been working as independent adviser and interim manager for food-related companies, involved in both retail and the industry.
