Change in the Vion Supervisory Board

Boxtel, 18 February 2021 – Vion has announced today that Hans Huijbers has stepped down as a member of Vion’s Supervisory Board (SB) effective from 14 July 2020. Hans Huijbers has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 2009.

“Hans Huijbers has been a member of Vion’s Supervisory Board since 2009. For a long time he did this in addition to his work as chairman of the board of the Zuidelijke Land- en Tuinbouworganisatie (ZLTO – Southern Agriculture and Horticulture Organisation) and as a dairy farmer. During a challenging period for the company, he determinedly helped to set the course for Vion. In recent years, the company has become more stable and stronger, and the dividend has recovered. “As chairman and a member of the Supervisory Board, I would like to express our gratitude for his enormous contribution and perseverance in making Vion stronger during his 11 years on the board,” says Theo Koekkoek chairman of the Vion Supervisory Board.

Vion also announced today that Hans Huijbers will join the management team of the Adriaens cattle abattoir in Belgium now that the takeover process has been successfully completed. In this position, he will focus on contact with livestock farmers and supervising the company’s integration within the Vion group.

Ronald Lotgerink, CEO of Vion, comments: “As a member of Vion’s Supervisory Board, Hans Huijbers has helped to shape the strategic continuity of the organisation over the past decade. In recent months he has been preparing the acquisition of Adriaens. His experience in the food and agri sector has been of undeniable value. On behalf of everyone at Vion, I would like to thank him for his hard work and dedication to the company. I am pleased that he will continue to contribute his knowledge and experience to the Adriaens management team in order to further strengthen our activities for our customers and ensure the company’s integration within the Vion group.”
