Meat according to global animal welfare standards
Good Farming Welfare focuses entirely on animal welfare standards set by major international retailers. This starts with carefully selected pig farmers who are committed to the welfare of their animals, and extends to dedicated retailers who value these efforts. The Good Farming Welfare chain concept explicitly focuses on higher animal welfare standards than the current market standards, based on international (retail) guidelines such as those in the USA and the UK. This joint commitment ensures a transparent, audited and reliable chain in which animals are raised with care and meat is produced with attention to quality and sustainability.
Two supply modules
Within Good Farming Welfare, a distinction is made between Boars/Gilts & Barrows/Gilts. In addition, pigs are being checked based on four elements: weight, backfat thickness, muscle thickness, and meat percentage.
Our accompanying purchasing tables provide pig farmers guidance on how to deliver their pigs. To get the right type of quality, our purchasing tables are based on the specifications and needs of our customers. Furthermore, we make agreements together regarding the quantity to be delivered in order to guarantee continuity and security of supply.
