Vion Groenlo specialises in processing for the sustainability concepts Good Farming Star (with a one-star Beter Leven label) and De Groene Weg (organic). The pigs in the Good Farming Star concept and the organic pigs are kept absolutely separate from the other animal flows in order to be able to guarantee their origin at all times. In addition to organic and Good Farming Star pigs, Vion Groenlo also slaughters and debones regular pigs and sows. Sow meat is particularly suitable for the domestic and international processed meat industry. Vion Groenlo slaughters Good Farming Star Pigs six days a week. All in all, approx. 25,000 pigs are slaughtered in this abattoir every week.
